HENEX

HENEX is a High ENErgy X-ray electronic spectrometer for use at high-energy laser facilities such as the University of Rochester Lab for Laser Energetics (URLLE) and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's National Ignition Facility (LLNL NIF). Tiger Innovations contracted with the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to provide custom control electronics for this instrument (shown to the right, installed in the instrument carrier with the battery pack). This effort included design, manufacture, test, and installation of the instrument electronics, and the support electronics required to interface with the existing facility data acquisition and control system, as well as continuing operational support for the system.

HXS

HXS is a Hard X-ray Spectrometer for use in recording the hot-electron Bremsstrahlung energy distribution in the x-ray energy range 12 to 60 keV region. HXS is composed of a cylindrically bent crystal, slit, scatter shielding, and a detector plane that is compatible with a CCD camera or a streak camera. Tiger Innovations contracted with the Naval Research Laboratory to provide custom control electronics for this instrument. The HXS electronic system consisted of three basic parts: Diagnostic Control Processor (DCP), Diagnostic Interface Unit (DIU), and the diagnostic itself. Tiger Innovations designed, integrated and tested the HXS electronics and provided support to the experimenters. HXS was a precursor to the HENEX project.

NISTAR

The NISTAR instrument, onboard the Triana spacecraft, measures radiation emitted and reflected by the entire sunlit Earth. The four-channel radiometer contains three absolute radiometric cavities and one photo-diode provided by NIST. Tiger Innovations wrote the flight software for the NISTAR instrument.
